18. In the Educational Establishment there is a proposed increase in the Salaries of the Head and of Second Masters, about which I shall address Your Lordship in another despatch.
The rent ($60) of houses for the Inspection of Brothels, who are Police Officers, but who are quartered inside the Police Barracks, and by the additional amount required for Medicines and Light and Fuel, has increased the present sum for this and last year proving to be insufficient.
I have further to point out that a new Establishment under the heading of "Government Gardens" has been provided; not that this Establishment has not been in existence before, but that instead of being left under the title of "Maintenance of Public Gardens", it now assumes its proper place.
